Hello, I'm Edith, also known as EdiiArtwork.

Welcome to my journey of healing and connection

Art has been a lifelong companion, guiding me through the depth of my grief, anger, and pain.Long before I can remember, creativity and art was my refuge; a safe space where I could express my soul.

As I navigated my college years at Baylor University, I studied Studio Art, only to find that this was the beginning of "taking my art seriously". I stumbled upon the field of Art Therapy, one day as I sat frustrated with the big decisions of "life after undergrad" and the realities of the "starving artist". Following the footsteps of the healing I sought in art, I pursued a Masters Degree in Art Therapy, at  at Florida State University.  Suddenly the grief, anger, and pain that so beautifully found refuge in art so many years ago, lead me to discovering a new lifelong passion to help others heal.

Today, my detailed and metaphorical oil paintings reflect my journey of healing, connection, and rebirth, reminding me of the strength that art and creativity brings to our lives.Influenced by the powerful works of artists like Basquiat and Carrie Mae Weems, I strive to challenge traditional Eurocentric standards while highlighting the African American experience. Through my art, I create dialogue and representation, celebrating the joy, uniqueness, and rich history of the Black community.
